Caption: Base-less Strategy. Welcome, fellow Democrats! Here's how we're going to win in 2020. First, no climate debate. Swing voters might get scared off! And any candidate who participates in a climate debate will be punished. We can't investigate Trump too hard. Some might view that as divisive. And let's not be overly pro-choice, especially now that Roe's doomed anyway. Too risky! I'm a swing voter, and I'm convinced! Yes! Our strategy is working!

Caption: Candidate Time Machine. Yes, the GOP is waging total war on Democracy, but I'll reach across the aisle like it's 1992! Die. I am tall, skinny, and youthful, and if you squint hard enough, you can pretend it's 2008 and I'm Barack Obama. Yeah, the average Trump voter had an income around $70,000 and was pretty much a soft, Viagra-popping suburban dad. But I will win those white working-class guys in diners from 2016! We represent the year 2064, when America finally listens to w - And that's the latest from the campaign trail! Back to you, Bob!

Caption: Not Helping. Mueller Report Edition. Here's evidence of crimes it's up to Congress to do something about. Kthanksbye! No. I don't criticize the President while I'm out of the country. I'm a brilliant contrarian journalist who's been right all along if you ignore everything in the report. The real question is how does this affect the 2020 horse race? Russia shmussia! Now, if Democrats did this, there'd be hell to pay. We must apply a very high standard of deference to the President. Unlike, say, a female candidate or a black teenager. Guess it's up to the voters to fix this mess!

Caption: Blacklisted. DCCC Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. So, what is the stupidest thing we could do now? We should do that. Well, we blacklisted all businesses that work with candidates who challenge incumbents. That's hard to beat! Yes indeed! God forbid we let another pipsqueak upstart turn into a rock star. this must not happen again. Time. AOC. But surely we can do something even more boneheaded. Well, this representative died ten years ago and we haven't told anyone. He's very quiet and doesn't upset swing voters! Perfect!

Caption: Things You Don't Hear After a Democratic Wave. Clearly it's time to start listening to real Americans, like this underpaid schoolteacher in Maryland. AaB. Should the GOP soften it's stance on abortion? Some say yes! Maybe the right should try treating women with civility instead of harassing and insulting them online. Nattering Noggins. The country would be pretty blue were it not for gerrymandering and voter suppression. Popular vote. D R. Is it time for Republican to move to the left?

Caption: Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh becomes momentarily possessed by the spirit of honesty. I cannot answer that question as I must remain impartia - urk! Oh, who am I kidding? These hearing are a farce! I'm obviously a partisan hack! I received stolen democratic emails and lied about them under oath! Hell, I was a Vince Foster conspiracy theorist back in the day! I'm O.G., baby! Roe is toast. I just called birth control o form of abortion, for god's sake! You are even debating my views on this? Ha! Suckas! And hell yeah, I'm gonna end democracy as you know it. More dark money, more voter suppression ... and all hail the invincible Trump! And then the spell is over. Wait - Where was I? Caption: "Government" of "Democracy?" Government. It's become a dirty words. I hate th' guv'mint! But, friendly reminder: We live in a democracy, not a dictatorship (for now). Next time someone complains about "the guv'mint," replace it with the word "democracy." Democracy needs to get out of the way of business. You'll get a much more accurate translation End big democracy. And stop voter fraud by those people! "We the People" also works. We the people are not the solution - we the people are the problem! Caption: It's the attack on democracy, stupid! The writer of an infamous authoritarian essay was revealed to be Trump adviser Michael Anton. The importation of third world foreigners will create a permanent democratic majority. I want my people to live. Trump adviser Stephen Miller defended the lie that millions voted illegally. They were being bused into New Hampshire! A man previously deemed too racist for mainstream Republicans will be attorney general. Why, I would never make it harder for certain folks to vote! Yet some people still don't get it. I'm tired of hearing that the sky is falling! There's always the next election, right?

Caption: Bald-faced lies, racism, flaming heaps of dung. Calm rebuttal, facts, gentle spin. Preening narcissism, toddleresque bellowing. Self-deprecating joke, needling zingers. Suggestion that election is rigged, threats to sue enemies. Suggestion that people vote early, threat to become 45th president. What a couple of clowns. Caption: Obama Nominates fern to Supreme Court. This is a moderate nominee that can bring us all together. Who doesn't like ferns? Legal experts weigh in. The fern has a limited voting record, so it's unclear how it would rule on abortion. I mean, it's not male or female. It has spores. Punditspew. Republicans respond. We will not vote on any life form nominated by Obama! Democratic voters are unenthused. I don't know. I'm just not feeling the fern.

Caption: Sincerely Screwed. A Colorado judge recently ruled against the town's ban on fracking. "While the court appreciates the Longmont citizens' sincerely held beliefs about risks to their health and safety, the court does not find this is sufficient to completely devalue the state's interest." Bam! So ... "sincerely held beliefs" are protected when they are religious beliefs of a store that sells glue-on googly eyes ... Hobby Lobby. Sex is only for making baby box stores. But not when they are held by actual people and grounded in observable scientific reality. Pumphouse Brewery. Would it help if I called that the Devil? So if you want to keep fracking out of your community, you'd better pray. Works about as well as voting apparently.
