Caption: Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh becomes momentarily possessed by the spirit of honesty. I cannot answer that question as I must remain impartia - urk! Oh, who am I kidding? These hearing are a farce! I'm obviously a partisan hack! I received stolen democratic emails and lied about them under oath! Hell, I was a Vince Foster conspiracy theorist back in the day! I'm O.G., baby! Roe is toast. I just called birth control o form of abortion, for god's sake! You are even debating my views on this? Ha! Suckas! And hell yeah, I'm gonna end democracy as you know it. More dark money, more voter suppression ... and all hail the invincible Trump! And then the spell is over. Wait - Where was I? Oh yes, I can't insert myself into politics!

Caption: What are they thinking? The GOP stole a Supreme Court seat, the Prez is under investigation, and SCOTUS nominee Kavanaugh wants to expand executive power. Yet half of Senate Dems are undecided about him. We don't want to rush to judgment about an illegitimate authoritarian sympathizer. Yes, everything the party has fought for since FDR will be ruined. But the Beltway media will respect us! Look, digging ourselves into very deep holes is what we do. By showing how bipartisan we are, we may not be thrown in prison when democracy dies! I'm tired. Let's just get this world-ending thing over with as quickly as possible.

President come and go, but they pick judges for lifetime appointments - and Trump is picking them in his image. 2009 - 2017: Republicans block Obama from appointing federal judges. Vacant. They also refuse to vote on his supreme court nominee. Ha-ha! 2017: An ultra-right extremist gets the stolen supreme court seat. R's quickly start filling over 100 openings on the federal bench. Under discussion: Adding more seats to stack the courts even further. And if another supreme court seat opens up: Eventually, political tides turn, YAY! Health care and breathable air! Sit back while the media ignores obstruction, people blame "do-nothing government." They all suck. Washington gridlock ... 4. In radical move, refuse president his Supreme Court pick. Sorry, you might actually help the little people. 5. Cackle with glee while the left directs most of its outrage at Dems for not doing enough. So much more fun to fight my own! Attack Republicans? Bo-ring! 6. Field "outsider" candidates who run against "the establishment." The system is rigged by elites! 7. After election, immediately appoint wealthy elites who make system more rigged than ever. Drool. To gut: Bank regulations. Labor laws. Social Security. Medicare. Affordable Care Act.

Caption: Obama Nominates fern to Supreme Court. This is a moderate nominee that can bring us all together. Who doesn't like ferns? Legal experts weigh in. The fern has a limited voting record, so it's unclear how it would rule on abortion. I mean, it's not male or female. It has spores. Punditspew. Republicans respond. We will not vote on any life form nominated by Obama! Democratic voters are unenthused. I don't know. I'm just not feeling the fern.

Caption: Conservative Supreme Court justices questioned whether the closure of half the abortion clinics in Texas had anything to do with elaborate new "safety" laws. Could be a coincidence! Where's the evidence? How much proof do they need? A different name for the laws? Texas B.S. 5. The "make those sluts have the babies by faking concern about the health" act. Hmm ... still unclear. A talking abortion clinic. Hi, I'm Abby. I was shut down because they said my hallways aren't wide enough. Are you sure? A tweet from a lawmaker admitting the true agenda? If SB 5 passes, it would essentially ban abortion statewide. David Dewhurst. @DavidDewhurst. We fought to pass SB5 thru the Senate last night, & this is why! Oops, that actually exists! I just don't know ...

Caption: The New Normal. The country has gone off the deep end, and it's mostly business as usual. Republicans say Obama can't nominate anyone to the Supreme Court. Punditspew. This will be quite a game of hardball! Things keep getting weirder, but we still treat the election as a horse race. And today the GOP frontrunner fired rubber bullets into a crowd of cheering fans! Even the people who were hit LOVED it! That'll play well in Plano! Sometimes it seems like nothing will break the facade. I will abolish the IRS and see revenue solely through plunder! Perkins is controversial, but his message is winning! Perkins 2020. Are there ANY limits to this farce? I will not deploy my army of nanobots into the bloodstreams of the non-white. Hmm ... that's a little extreme. Careful! Let's not violate the new libel laws!

A president doing president stuff in his final year?! Tyrant! Beatrice Bamboozler. Center for Nakedly Partisan Priorities. But wait! Justice Kennedy was confirmed in Reagan's last year of office. Clearly he's illegitimate and his rulings must be voided ... including the one that made George W. Bush president which voids his appointees ... Roberts. Alito ... giving the court a 4-1 liberal majority! Uh-oh.

Caption: Thanks to a Supreme Court ruling, companies have quietly added language to contracts the effectively ends people's right to sue. Fine print no one has time to read. We may elect to resolve claim by arbitration. Our justice system is being replaced with a private, corporate-friendly alternative. The people judging these cases are often friends of the company! Eh, if it's not about goofy politicians or sex, I don't care. What if ordinary citizens were given the legal powers corporations now have? Before you hire me, you must sign this agreement to appear in a secret court judged by my homies. Our fine print would be awesome. Disputes: The fat cats at Globoplundimaxx agree to reimburse me for any erroneous charges x 1,000 plus $1 million to my mom for her judging services, plus a bowl of M&M's with the green ones removed under penalty of ... Damn arbitration clauses!

Caption: The Right's Rights. Some people are outraged by recent Supreme Court rulings. (Man) + (Woman) only. I've been denied the right to deny the right to marry! League for Liberty to Limit Liberties. Now people are no longer free to be prohibited from buying health insurance! This will only lead to more businesses being forced to bake gay wedding cakes! My life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness depend on denying health insurance claims! The Founding Fathers would be appalled!

Sponsored bill to ban burning the U.S. flag. Vows to fight economic inequality … partly caused by her husband deregulating Wall Street. Friends with Bono. Friends with Kissinger. Would prevent total destruction of the Supreme Court. Can't do much about Scalia. Would be first woman Prez. Hard sell in a country that can't even put a woman host on a major late-night tv show. She's the only realistic choice. She's the only realistic choice.

Caption: Buffer Buffoonery. The Supreme Court recently struck down a "buffer zone" law for abortion clinics while having its own protester-free zone that is many times larger. Massachusetts law: 35 ft. around clinics. Supreme Court buffer. Shouldn't the justices be as exposed to the "free marketplace of ideas" as a woman seeking an abortion? Repent. Your honor, please come to our Legal Crisis Center for some free counseling! They'd just have to take their chances and hope none of the activists are violent. Constitution killer! We the People. Things would change real fast. it being self-evident that no one should have to put up with this s#*t ... we're reversing our ruling on buffer zones.

Caption: Racist Idiot PR. "Who let the dog whistles out?" Having trouble with a racially-charged gaffe? All you need is a little media training. First, take a cue from the L.A. Clippers owner and act like you were momentarily possessed by a racist poltergeist. Klanner the Bigoted Ghost. Say "I'm upset that these sentiments are being attributed to me. Klanner did it." Second, when scapegoating black people, use terms other than "negro." Sensitive racism for the 21st century. Newt Gingrich said "The African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps" and he still gets on tv. And if you want to silence minorities about Affirmative Action, pull a John Roberts and accuse them of discrimination. If they mention race, they're racists. You'll be ready for prime time in no time!

Caption: Get Your Words' Worth. John Roberts on campaign finance: The government may no more restrict how many candidates a donor may support than it may tell a newspaper how many candidates it may endorse. Like, duh! So, dollars are equivalent to words, which makes exactly as much sense in reverse. That'll be three pronouns, please. As the owner of a large book collection worth billions of words, would you consider donating some to my campaign? Vote me. Of course, Roberts isn't very good at recognizing absurdity. I'm just saying money talks, so it's not corrupting. What's so hard to understand here?

Caption: An ugly decision. The Iowa Supreme Court has reaffirmed its ruling that a male boss can fire a female employee for being too attractive. It's not about gender. It's about saving this man's marriage! Seven crusty dudes. Ladies of Iowa! Worried that you'll be fired for being a looker? You need this! Iowa Worker Protection Kit. Do you have the Jenkins Files? Right here, sir! If you are fired, call the hotline. Union for the unemployably hot. Oh, he saw you without the disguise? I'm sorry. Let me put you on babe stamps. 1-800-Too-Foxy. Unfortunately, overturning the decision will be an uphill battle. As all of us have been distracted by picturing the plaintiff's lawyer naked, we'll have to declare a mistrial.
