Caption: Assault on Reason. Some argue that the students protesting school shootings just don't appreciate gun culture. If these kids did some target practice, they'd see that guns aren't scary. They're like warm, fuzzy puppies that bullets come out of! Never mind that the students aren't against guns used for hunting or sport. Look, we're just trying to keep mass slaughter machines out of the hands of people who only recently stopped eating their own boogers. Never again. Protect kids. Then there's the you can't criticize guns unless you're a gun expert lines. Oh hey, that's a Bushmaster AR-15 with 100-round dual drums. Can I live now? Yes, if everyone just understood guns, mass shootings would no longer be a problem. Pow pow pow. Hello! I like hunting and - ack!

Caption: "Politicized" The record-breaking storms and California wildfires seem consistent with climate change predictions. Nattering Noggins. You! Stop politicizing the weather! If I mention science, that's politicizing? You're politicizing our conversation with questions like that. What if I say we can understand the world by studying observable reality? Obvious politicizing. So ... you're politicizing the word "politicizing." Stop politicizing my use of the word "politicizing" to describe your politicizing!

Caption: Of 600 girls rescued from Boko Haram, at least 214 are pregnant. But because of the Helms Act of 1973, aid groups lose U.S. funding if they perform abortions. UNFPA. Have a binky. Let's try to understand the mindset of anyone who thinks this makes sense. Those girls shouldn't have worn sexy outfits to a terrorist abduction! So what if they're war victims who might die giving birth? Terrorist-rapist fetuses are people! We want to send a message: If your violent militia kidnaps and rapes hundreds of girls, U.S. Republicans will have your back! Because we are pro-life!

Caption: Get Your Words' Worth. John Roberts on campaign finance: The government may no more restrict how many candidates a donor may support than it may tell a newspaper how many candidates it may endorse. Like, duh! So, dollars are equivalent to words, which makes exactly as much sense in reverse. That'll be three pronouns, please. As the owner of a large book collection worth billions of words, would you consider donating some to my campaign? Vote me. Of course, Roberts isn't very good at recognizing absurdity. I'm just saying money talks, so it's not corrupting. What's so hard to understand here?

I hold before you a chicken from Foster Farms, who've been accused of spreading antibiotic-resistant salmonella. Some are even calling for new regulations. *GASP!* They do not understand that markets are perfect and must not be distorted, lest the invisible hand become the fist of an angry God! All hail unregulated poultry! Can we eat the chicken, O wise one? HELL NO! I mean, let's order a pizza.

Please! Not in the voting booth! Funny how all this "free" stuff only appears if you pay for health insurance. I'm here to pick up my birth control. Uninsured? That'll be $76. Maybe we should put it into terms Republicans can understand. Are you enjoying your free rosemary and butterpear exfoliation mask? Um, I did pay $25,000 in membership dues. "We were innocently doing out fundraising dance when our right breast just popped on out!" Ka-boing! Anti-choice. Please understand that this slip had nothing to do with politics, even though our board is totally stacked with right-leaning boobs. Caption: Slowpoke. Welcome back to Politics 101 with Professor Perkins. Today we'll be discussing the word "entitlements." This is an actual billboard spotted in Washington State. Should people collecting entitlements be allowed to vote? Note the two possible meanings of "entitlement." Entitlement programs. Your hard work is rewarded later. Sense of entitlement. Spoiled brat who thinks the world owes them something. Calling Social Security an entitlement invites this confusion. What is we called babies entitlements? Doctor, where's my son? Who do you think you are. The queen mother? Just because you gave birth to him doesn't mean your entitled to keep him! Next week: Should people who don't understand entitlements be allowed to vote?

Caption: Slowpoke. Asterisky Business. The GOP isn't too crazy about Elizabeth Warren, a doffed consumer advocate, running the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. We prefer our own candidate, Mr. Feinprint. Hullo! You may already know him from his work in bank statements and pharmaceutical ads. GlactaBank(tm) No-fee checking.* Oblivinol(tm) 500mg.** *Excludes fees. ** May cause projectile incontinence. Aw, shucks! Thank you, Senator Perkins, for that wonderful introduction. I would love to help consumers* by making their credit card bills and mortgages easier to understand.** *i.e., destroy then. **For speakers of Mohican. From now on, all the statements shall be written in this Algonquin dialect. When questioned, most Americans aren't that concerned about who heads the bureau. I don't have time to read up on Feinprint, but I'm sure he's okay!

Caption: Slowpoke. And now a word from the Secretary of the Treasury … Drooly Julie. My fellow Americans, it's time to get this country shaking it's moneymaker! To do this, we must look at the origin of our financial crisis: An overextension of the adult novelty industry. Firms like this one invested heavily in exotic sexual devices no one could understand - partner-default swaps, frottage-backed securers, queen-sized suction puppies, and foursquare bean strokers. Nookie Nook. In any event, a lust-based problem requires a lust-based solution ... First, I propose injecting liquidity into the tight credit market - again and again, as necessary. Also, we need to retool the auto industry. As Detroit goes limp, so goes the nation! We need the sexy cars of the future NOW! If workers must get laid off, they need job retraining, like my friend Bud here. Crack! Finally, we need public works projects. I want amateur porn block grants! massive bedroom infrastructure projects! And shtup for America volunteers! S.F.A. "E Duo Unum." Yes, it's time for THE NUDE DEAL!

Caption: Slowpoke. Movin' On Up! My friends, social security is a disgrace. Always has been. It's time for people to take responsibility for themselves …. With my MOVIN' ON UP plan! It's simple: just do like I did - pull on your bootstraps and marry into a FAMILY FORTUNE! Right, Cindy? Yes, dear. "I'll provide a massive tax break for any wealthy American who marries someone with less money. It's a win-win!" "The new Office of Social Climbing will assist in training the unwashed masses in the ways of high society." Whut the - this menu has whores on it! Hors d'oeuvres, sir. They're appetizers. "A new website will guide people to available cash cows." Golddigger.gov. Amanda Smedley. Smedley's Snow Peas Heiress. Likes: Snow peas. "I hear the Coors family has some lovely nubile young ladies right now!" Now, who says I don't understand economics? Why hasn't everyone already done this? Drink Bud!

Caption: Slowpoke. The fate of the world hangs in the balance. Yet as we face war, global warming, and an economic meltdown, our presidential rave is about this: Ha ha! He looks funny eating cheese balls! Elitist! Obama's opponent isn't exactly helping matters. He just doesn't understand plain, simple folks like us! TV ad crafted by well-heeled consultants to manipulate opinions of the working class. Obama, of course, joins a line of "uppity" black leaders. He just doesn't fit in! What's the guy supposed to do? Okay, are you happy now? POSER! Phils.

We at Slowpoke peer into our crystal ball to see what's next for the U.S. economy! O magic ball … Speak to Swami Perkins! Soon, Americans will be providing tech support to Bangalore. Hello, this is, uh, Rajiv Chandrashekar. Can I have the product's serial number? In broken, Midwestern accented Hindi. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOU, YOU DOTLESS-HEAD! As the dollar sinks further, factories to make foreign goods sprout up in the rust belt. I can barely afford to feed my kids, and these Brazilians are buying @#! DANCING FRUIT HATS?! Dancing Headwear Inspector No. 12. Tourism surges, as people from all over the world can finally afford to visit. I used to drink cocktails all day at five-star hotels in your country! Caption: Slowpoke. Crox News. Good evening, and welcome to Punditspew. I'm your host Foxy Chromelock. With me tonight is Democratic Congressman Dan Doormat, and Chairman of the Archaic Values Coalition Mr. Perkins. Hello. LIBERALS DIE! Gentlemen, let's begin with your thoughts on the economy. Well, it seems to me that it could be better ... Liberals are cloven-hoofed, piglet-sodomizing hellserpents in the great dragon's army of darkness. DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! Very interesting point, Mr. Perkins. Now Senator Doormat, What are you feelings on the situation in Iraq? Well, when I voted for the war, I didn't realize it would be so messy. As terrorist-fellating, grandmother-impaling spawn of Satan, the LIBERALS would plunge America into the stygian abyss of the DAMNED! Well put, Mr. Perkins. I understand you have a new book out, by the way. Yes, it's called SLANDERIOUS, TREASONOUS BETRAYAL. It's about Liberals. Um ... That's all the time we have. Stay tuned to Crox News, the "Just and Evenhanded" network! Crox News.
